Slow, sometimes harshly raw and very heavy and not without the awesome power displayed on their later releases. I like these tracks a lot because they show the less polished energy of this very talented, thoughtful band. These versions are somewhat more edgy. Somehow that resonants with me as being more 'real'. Oh man, this doom just rocks!
Favorite track: Gloomy Sunday.
this song is an hour and a half of tension and atmosphere. the fact that a part of it is dedicated to a late band member makes it even sadder. if you have that long to listen to an album I would highly recommend it katsumashi
Sludge is a mood drug for me, and we’re matching up nicely right now. Heathen is at the top of the list in this genre. The last two songs are what I would describe as beautiful torture. Metallurgical Fire
"a bit dryer and not as incredibly huge as later recordings, but that's not even a bad thing, as it adds to the intimacy and clarity of it. Maybe some of the clear vocals aren't quite there yet, but honestly this cassette already displays such a perfectly formulated vision, that Bell Witch basically insulted themselves by calling it just a demo."
